PILATES BY ABBY
WHO IS PBA?
“Pilates By Abby” is the new studio on the block, the vision for PBA, is clear. We are here for you, we are here to help you move your body for a way that works, challenges and feels good for you. Our instructors care, we accommodate for your fitness goals, injuries and your mental health, we will modify to your individual needs.
Our studio is welcoming, where even if you are new to us, you will walk out feeling like you’ve just made new friends.
Reformer, Barre & Mat Pilates
Reformer Pilates-
Reformer Pilates combines the traditional principals and movements of mat Pilates with a Reformer machine. This machine contains a foot bar, carriage, pulleys, and five springs of varying tension that can be adjusted to suit your fitness level or needs. Reformer Pilates may just be the most popular way to exercise as it is well suited to all fitness levels, genders and ages. We have 9 reformers to 1 instructor. Our instructors make sure we move around focused on our clients technique and to be able to answer any questions along the way!
Mat Pilates-
Mat Pilates, typically done on a mat, has been one of the most popular workouts for decades. It offers a way to work your core through repeated movements that are all about technique and breathing. It allows you to strengthen and tone your midsection, as well as your arms and legs, and it can provide support for people with back problems.
We like to mix it up and incorporate props, from magic circles, sliders, weights. Mat Pilates is suited for all fitness levels and you will be in a small and intimate setting where you have 1 instructor to 6 clients per class.
Barre Pilates-
Barre is a workout format that combines elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates all into one dynamic, effective class. Barre classes feature functional movements designed to improve balance and strength, while its dance-based moves elongate and tone muscles. You are bound to find little muscles you never knew existed.
MEET ABBY
Abby is the founder of PBA and is our qualified Reformer, Barre and Mat Pilates instructor.
I am so passionate about movement, It doesn’t matter how hard you push yourself that day, we can’t give each day 100% but showing up and giving it what you can is all it takes. I started PBA because I have a clear vision on how I like a studio to flow.
I want each client to feel empowered, confident and motivated. Pilates and barre Isn’t a one movement fits all, it’s about you as an individual and what your body needs including strength, flexibility or rehabilitation. We encourage all skill levels, and work with you individually in a small group setting, and if you are a beginner… don’t worry, we all were to!
My favourite style of class is for it to be challenging but with options to make it achievable for all, I love balance and flow but I also love to push that burn!
I have a husband and 3 young children, Duke, Lola and Rocket. I love the ocean, sunshine, hiking and exploring on my days off!
MEET KARA
Kara is our qualified Mat and reformer Instructor.
I am a qualified mat and reformer instructor and I am also currently completing my PT course - anything to expand my knowledge on health and fitness! It is my absolute passion!
I love my Pilates classes to be a bit of everything - all body parts, different positions with some balance work and stretching - basically an all over workout that leaves you feeling strong and confident!
I am a wife and mum of 3 young kids, Max, Wyatt and Freya.
In my spare time (if that’s a thing with 2 jobs and 3 kids) you’ll find me walking my dog, Navy, down the beach while I binge my audiobooks and podcasts, doing a puzzle and playing a very casual 9 holes of golf with my husband, unashamedly only on a nice day!
